Product Description
The VitidAutunno® Piemonte Albarossa – Pieve del CauRo® tells the story of a unique grape variety. Created in 1938 by Professor Giovanni Dalmasso from a floral crossing between Nebbiolo di Dronero and Barbera, Albarossa was born almost by accident and has since become one of Piemonte's most intriguing red varieties.
The vineyards lie on hills rich in silica, limestone and tuff, a soil composition that naturally enhances the wine's elegance and structure. The grapes are vinified in oak vats with submerged cap and frequent punch-downs, a traditional method that enhances extraction and complexity.
The wine displays a deep garnet-red color with slight orange highlights, a bouquet rich in white pepper, wild blackberry and redcurrant, and a palate that is velvety, warm and delicately aromatic.
A refined red wine with excellent aging potential (4–7 years), ideal with rich meat dishes, game, mature cheeses or simply as a meditation wine.
